Hell Ride 3

Looks like the kind folks over at Santa Cruz Bicycles are putting on another Hell Ride. Hell Ride 3 is open for signups. Are you up for 10,000+ feet of climbing over 60-80 miles in northern California with Mark Weir and Juli Furtado? If so, there's a free Santa Cruz Nomad in it for you. Only two people get in, one guy, one girl. Do it!

Packed...

Pack contents for the One Six Two Ride. Time for a couple hours of sleep, then off to Lincoln @ 1:30am for 3:00am click-in time........

Countdown to One Six Two...

Less than 24 hours till the Lincoln to Ponca epic! I'm preparing mentally for what will be the longest single day in the saddle I've ever experienced. I really have no idea how my body will react since I've done nothing even close to this big of a ride.

No major changes to my bike - Soulcraft HolyRoller SS, 34x18, WTB ExiWolf/NanoRaptor.

I'll be packing Hammer Nutrition Endurolytes, Perpetuem, and Hammer Gel, and Hammer bars. The way I see it, as long as I stay hydrated and eat consistently, I should be able to avoid a serious bonk.

Its sure to be an EPIC, complete photo journal to follow - stay tuned.............

Rise Against - The Sufferer and the Witness

So the latest Rise Against album, The Sufferer and the Witness finally hit stores this week. I've been anxiously awaiting this album for months. Most of the album has that same raw, fast, and heavy sound that I love so much about their previous release, Siren Song of the Counter Culture. This album falls a bit short of Siren Song overall, but its still stellar and I'll listen from start to finish. If you enjoy the punk rock-n-roll at all, you need to pick up this album!

Turkey Vultures...

Turkey vultures lick their chops while patiently waiting for a tasty morsel (me) to croak at the end of "The Goat Trail" (aka Buffalo Run). Damnit maverick, Buffalo Run is one fine trail! Ponca State Park, Ponca, NE, Jul 04, 2006.

Big Black to reunite for Touch&Go 25th Anniversary...

Check this shit out. Looks like Steve Albini is assembling Big Black for a short-lived reunion. Touch & Go Records is celebrating their 25th anniversary by throwing a hell of a party (get a load of that lineup!) in Chicago September 8-10.
